at the end of the day it all comes out in the wash at the drop of a hat and against the odds, so don't be a doubting thomas - it's water under the bridge - go the extra mile cause every cloud has a silver lining and you might as well put all your eggs in one basket: idle hands are the devil's work and come hell or high water, if you're barking up the wrong tree with a chip on your shoulder you'll get a taste of your own medicine and go back to square one!
...which might be a blessing in disguise.
