justification

  • a factor that shows an action to be reasonable
  • (jurisprudence): defence in a prosecution for a criminal offense
  • (theology): God's act of declaring or making a sinner righteous
  • (typesetting): a type of typographic alignment
...when text is aligned along the left margin, and letter- and word-spacing is adjusted so that the text falls flush with both margins (along two straight lines) this is known as fully justified or full justification.
