i like those shows where x comes in, sits at the bar and says, beer or whiskey and there is no discussion of brands. in the movies it simply moves the plot along without tedious dialogue but if it happened in real life it could mean there was an empathy - an understanding that a drink is required and it doesn't matter what kind. and it is delivered in silence. sometimes with a nod.
life is a series of choices. good ones, bad ones and ones that others make for you. good or bad.
